Housing Rules

1. General Conduct 

● Treat roommates, neighbors, staff, and visitors with respect at all times 

● No violence, threats, harassment, bullying, or intimidation 

● Follow all local, state, and federal laws 

● Comply with all program policies and staff directives 


2. Housing Unit Care 

● Keep living space clean, sanitary, and free of hazards 

● Dispose of trash properly and regularly 

● Report maintenance or safety issues immediately 

● Do not damage, alter, or remove property, furniture, or fixtures 

● Participants may be held financially responsible for damages beyond normal wear and tear

 

3. Guests & Visitors 

Guests must be approved according to program policy

Guests may not stay longer than permitted or interfere with program operations

5. Substance Use

● Illegal drugs are strictly prohibited

● Being under the influence while on program property or during activities is prohibited 

● Drug testing may be required per program policy 


6. Weapons & Safety 

● Weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited 

● Fire hazards (candles, space heaters, open flames) are not allowed unless approved 

● Do not block exits or disable smoke detectors or safety equipment 


7. Program Participation 

● Attend all required meetings, case management sessions, and life-skills classes 

● Actively work toward individualized program goals 

● Notify staff in advance if unable to attend required activities 


8. Inspections & Staff Access 

● Staff may conduct routine inspections with notice 

● Staff may enter units without notice in emergencies 

● Participants must allow access for maintenance, safety checks, or program compliance 


9. Privacy & Respect

● Respect the privacy and belongings of others 

● Do not enter another participant’s room without permission 

● No sharing or duplication of keys or access codes 


10. Prohibited Activities 

The following are grounds for disciplinary action or termination: 

● Illegal activity 

● Property damage or theft 

● Unauthorized occupants 

● Repeated rule violations 

● Refusal to comply with program requirements 


11. Rule Violations 

Violations may result in: 

● Verbal warning 

● Written warning 

● Behavior contract 

● Suspension of privileges 

● Termination from housing 

The level of consequence will depend on the severity and frequency of the violation. 


12. Acknowledgment 

Participants are responsible for understanding and following all housing rules. Failure to comply may result in loss of housing and program participation
